Last week, I was photographed and interviewed by the wonderful team behind Bloglovin'. Below is the resulting post, that I'm reposting from http://blog.bloglovin.com/blog/meet-new-york-based-fashion-blogger-marina-ingvarsson.

What's your story?

I’ve been modeling for quite a few years, and my blogging journey just began last year, when I started to realize that some of my Instagram posts were getting a lot of likes and positive comments. Those posts were featuring my clothes selections, outfits, looks, etc. So I thought, if they were getting so much attention, I was probably doing something right and should concentrate on that.

How did you decide on the style you were going to angle your content on?

To be honest, I’m not quite set on the style of it yet, still experimenting and enjoying the process. I think that’s what you are supposed to do during your first couple of years blogging, right?

What four words would you choose to describe your style?

Adequate for the occasion

If you had to choose five fashion pieces to wear for the rest of your life, what would they be?

It’s a very tough question for me, since one of the reasons I enjoy fashion is its transient nature. It’s the constant change and the never-ending chase for The New that’s so appealing to me. On the other hand, I have some pieces that I keep wearing for years, those clothes and accessories that have the timeless quality to them. But wearing something for the rest of my life? I think I’m still looking for those!

What does your dream travel itinerary look like?

Anything and anywhere with a road trip and the wind in my hair.

What’s your shooting and editing process like?

I never dress for the blog post only - that seems sort of fake to me. If I’m doing a shoot for the blog, it’ll take 20 minutes tops, and then I get on with my day, wearing that same outfit. I’m always trying my best for the whole process to be as organic as possible. There’s not too much planning, I just dress the way I wanted, and if I find the good light or the fitting background, the shoot happens. If not, I might do it on another day. There's no stress. The editing process has one main rule - I must look like my actual self in the images. Not too posey, not too tense or overly dramatic – just the right amount of everything.

Where do you look for inspiration?

Mostly music and movies. Sometimes a song would make me feel a certain way, or a scene in the movie. I once did a whole blog post, inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s amazing beatnik dance scene in Funny Face.

When you aren’t blogging, what does a normal day look like?

I’ve started getting into editorial styling very recently, and it’s been going well so far; my blogging experience with pulls, and dealing with PR people helps me a lot. I just styled a Vogue portrait shoot with an ex-principal ballerina-turned-actress, which was an exciting experience, and I’m looking forward to doing more fashion styling soon. On a weekend, I’ll be either at the gym at Chelsea Piers, browsing through the magazines and books at McNally Jackson Cafe, or gallery-hopping either downtown or in Chelsea where I live. On a lazy day, I’ll be binge-watching Ukrainian dance reality TV shows. Those are absolutely the best, and I recommend them to anyone who’s interested in ballet or contemporary dance.

If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?

"Do more of what you actually enjoy doing, versus what you think other people expect you to do."

Last question, any songs you can’t stop listening to?

There’s one every couple of weeks, but most recently – “Into Black” by Blouse. Literally been playing on repeat.
